Black & White

The girls are in their room "sleeping". Now that we have shifted to big girl beds, the term "sleeping" is used loosely. "Sleeping" can be anything from actually sleeping, to laying awake in a bed, to playing in bed with all of your favorite toys, to playing in the room in which your bed resides. We are okay with any of the meanings because we understand that it is a big change for them and we know it will get better......one day. When we hear noises we gauge if it was loud enough that we should go in and check.

Picture this:
From the girls room: Crash!
Derek: "I'm going to go check on them."
(two seconds later he returns, giggling in a panicked way.) "You're screwed."
Me: "Why?"
Derek: "Just go look."

When I opened the door, this is what I saw:

White beard

 War paint

 Painted sheets

 White washed bed.

White handed.

Poor Woody.

Blocks.

She was very thorough and got every side!

A mystery tube of white paint.

A mystery paint tray and black magic marker.

After we investigated and cleaned the crime scene, it was decided that one of the girls got out of bed and entered the closet. There she found a height chart that has never been used.... and within that box was a tube of washable white paint and a washable black marker (THANK GOD for washable things!!) Once the other twin saw what happening she wanted in. It was determined that Amelia controlled the white paint, as her entire bed was covered in the paint. Whereas Emma controlled the black marker because her bed frame had black drawings all over. Based on the amount of coverage of white paint to black marker, it is believed that Amelia is the one who initially found the height chart.

It's alright, I've heard there is safety in numbers.
