Youtube

I posted the videos as private, that's why you couldn't see them. They have been switched to public so everyone will be able to see them. Sorry!

Yummy in my tummy??

Here's two short videos of the girls eating. I love their faces right after the food hits their tongue, pure disgust. Luckily they seem to enjoy everything else about eating :)

Yummy

This month we were able to start the girls on baby food. I decided to take on the challenge of making my own. One afternoon I decided to make 5 different kinds. Sweet Potato, pear, apple, zucchini and mango. So far they have tried 3. Sweet potatoes, pears and zucchini...pears were by far the favorite!

Making their food is really fun and really easy. You bake/steam/blend/mush. Then put into these special ice cube trays and freeze. And ta-da! You have fresh homemade baby food :)

Amelia trying sweet potatoes.

Emma checking out her food.

Just don't let them get the spoon, cause then you'll have a big ol' mess :)

BFF's

Ok, I couldn't resist. Emily, the girls 2nd cousin is so sweet and adorable. I hope my little girls grow up to be just like her. I had to share these pictures from Easter.

The 2 Em's (Emily and Emma):

Amelia was asleep for the pictures above, but I was able to get a picture of the two of them.

Easter Visits

After we opened baskets in the morning, we spent the afternoon visiting with family.

Here they are in their Easter outfits.

The girls with Great Grandma Rooney

Emily is Amelia and Emma's 2nd cousin. She was so excited to spend the afternoon with the girls and I could tell the girls loved her too. They couldn't keep their eyes off of her.

Emma and Auntie

Spending time with Grandma Debi and Great Grandma Eunice

They each got a handmade bunny, so sweet!!

And a "Boo Boo Bunny." It doesn't get any cuter than this!!

Amelia playing with a bunny on Becky's lap.

And, although we couldn't see Grandma Erica on Easter, we were able to sneak in visit the day before :)

Thanks again to everyone who made this a special day for our girls.

Easter Morning

The girls 1st Easter was great. We were able to spend it with family and friends. We are so lucky and thankful to have all of you in our lives. I know that as the girls get older they will love their family just as much and Derek and I do!

The Easter Bunny brought them so many new things;
clothes, books, pez, and even their first soccer ball.

A Snuggle Bunny puppet book from Grammy and Grandpa.

Auntie filled a basket with so many great things; clothes, toys
and even a silver spoon with their name stamped into it!

We tried to put their new spoons on their noses, but they wouldn't stick...

Uncle Joey got them so many new outfits. Some with ice cream cones and cupcakes... some with elephants. And even some with monkeys on the feet!

The Arslans put together these adorable baskets, complete with their first tooth brush!

Amelia loves to eat the tooth brush.

Emma loves it too!

Erica made them each a basket filled with so many fun things; baby food, toys, a little stuffed animal and even treats for mom and dad!

Amelia couldn't take her eyes off the light up chick.

They even got a singing chicken that laughs when you tickle him from the Bowkers.

Thank you to everyone for sending cards, calling and visiting.
We have such an amazing group of family and friends!

Easter Egg Hunt

We scattered plastic eggs around the house with hot dogs in each and let the pups go around and find them. They go crazy for them! Penne was the clear winner this time. She has speed, keeps her nose down and can flip the eggs over to get the hot dogs out. Charlotte may have the speed but she takes her time eating. Bella is good at finding the empty eggs but what she lacks in that department she makes up for in sweetness. Next time I think we will let Bella and Charlotte have a head start.

1 year later...

Last Easter is when we decided to share the news with everyone. Now you all know that I couldn't just simply tell my family, I had to have some fun with it. So what better way than with a little surprise from the Easter Bunny.

On Easter morning we went over to my parents house for breakfast. Before we sat down to eat, I made everyone sit at the table and open their baskets. Each basket was filled with candy and a mysterious egg in the center. Inside each egg was a onesie specific to each person. "I love my Grandpa" "Grandma loves me" "My Aunt Rocks" "If you think I'm good looking, you should see my uncle"

And then came the best part:

And this sums up everyone's reaction:

Bad Egg

Last night we decided to color Easter eggs, an all-time favorite in our house! So we got everything ready:

Eggs: check!

Dye: check!

All set and ready to go! The girls were on our laps watching....

Until a minute into our fun Emma decided to pull the paper towel out from underneath the orange color and dumped the entire color all over the counter...

I guess there won't be any orange eggs this year :)

We put some paint on their hands and helped them color an egg. Emma made the green one and Amelia did the purple one.

But then they got sleepy so Derek and I had to finish up...
that's when things got a little crazy.

Here are some of Derek's masterpieces.

Here are some of mine. Why yes, that is an Easter egg with sprinkles on it.

*******
It clearly wasn't our best year decorating eggs but I am happy to report that we did not end up with any brown ones!
