We're from Holland. Isn't that weird?

Uncle Mike went to Europe this summer and brought us back sweet shirts from Holland. They have a little girl clogging in a field, doesn't get any cooler than that!!

Thanks UM, we love them :)

Best. Souvenir. Ever.

Butterfly Conservatory

On our last full day in Niagara, we took A & E to the butterfly conservatory. It was amazing to have thousands of butterflies all around you. Derek even had two butterflies land on him! Both girls loved it! Emma was in complete awe of them. She must have picked up on us saying "Oooo" so she kept putting her lips together and blowing air, to mimic what we were saying. So cute :)

Fun in the hotel

International Waters

Our hotel had a pool that Amelia and Emma loved to swim in!

As a side note: Derek is pretty much a hero.

We had the whole pool to ourselves for a good bit of time. A family with 2 older kids decided to join us. I gave Karen the look like... "hey we should get out." And she gave me the look like... "hey let's hang out for a couple more minutes so it doesn't seem like we are running away from them." At that moment, a family of two dads and a pack of rowdy kids rushed the pool. What we didn't know then and should have picked up on is that the shorts they were wearing weren't bathing suits but rather their underwear. With all the splashing and screaming and jumping Karen and I decided it was probably time to make our exit. At that second we saw Derek stand up from the sidelines and just point down to the water, asking "Can he swim?" All eyes move to the center of the pool and see a little boy bobbing up and down, then his dad busts out of nowhere to rescue him. Nope he couldn't... the boxer shorts should have been the clue.

At that point we knew it was time to make our exit.

Umm...

do i have something on my face?

Niagara Falls - part 3

The next day we went on the Journey Behind the Falls. We weren't really sure if it was something that the girls would like and we were prepared to cut our time down there short if the they were scared. Let's just say we had nothing to worry about, these girls are thrill seekers!

View from the lower deck.

We tested the waters by going out onto the ice bridge first.
You get an amazing view of the falls without getting as wet.

Here we are out on the lower deck. They couldn't get enough!

Here's the best group shot we could get, it was so windy and wet down there!!

Niagara Falls - part 2

While the girls were snoozing, Auntie and I went on Maid on the Mist. We totally would have brought the girls on with us, but we didn't know if they were too small. As we boarded the boat, there was a lady wearing a baby bjorn with a teeny baby. Sorry girls, next time!!

All poncho'd up.

Next we decided to walk across the Rainbow Bridge to enter back into America. It was a really nice walk there but the line was too long and storm clouds were coming so we decided to head back.

We couldn't find a real mounty to take a picture with us but this worked.

Auntie in love :)

Cutest cutout mounty and moose ever :)

Niagara Falls - part 1

Our trip to Niagara Falls was a success. We drove through the night because we thought that the girls would sleep the whole way there. And since we were all expecting that, they decided to stay awake for most of the trip. We spent a lot of hours trying to entertain them... and for most of those hours we were unsuccessful. We arrived at our hotel around 2am and everyone was ready for bed.

The next day we spent the whole day on the Canadian side of the falls.
