New Friends

We were invited over for a cookout at Stefanie's and we met some new friends, Reilly and Avery. They were both adorable and both girls had so much fun playing with them... especially when Avery opened up the container of puffs and dumped the whole thing out in Emma's lap!!

The kids playing together.

Yup, Amelia is still eating puffs :)

A new game.

"Amelia, I think this is how the big kids play."

Too many Jello shots.... kidding. Just empty dixie cups that made really fun toys!

Thanks for hosting a great day Stefanie!!

9/11/11

On the morning of Sept. 11 our neighborhood fire station had a special tribute to all of the people who lost their lives ten years ago. There was a parade of local police officers and fire fighters followed by a presentation of two beams that came from the Twin Towers. It was a really nice way to remember all of the lives that were lost and the families that were affected.

Waiting for the parade to start.

Although the girls loved waving to all of the police officers and fire fighters, the bag pipes were their favorite!

Lots of big firetrucks to see.
Police officers marching.

Best seat in the place.

The beams covered.

The beams unveiled, signifying both of the fallen towers.

Takin' a hike

While we were at the park, we hiked one of the trails. We got about half way in when we thought about how this would be a good spot for a "Criminal Minds" episode....

Tree inspectors.

Walking in the woods.

A short break to enjoy some love.

Momma and Emma enjoying the hike.

Amelia must have been really hungry.

Auntie Timber Trails with the creepy teepee...

Yup, this must be where the killer on "Criminal Minds"
hides before he jumps out and murders the innocent hikers...

Back to our regularly scheduled program...

Things are a little busier around our house these days. I have decided to leave the advertising world and start a new career in *hopefully* nursing. In order to get into nursing school I have to take A LOT of chemistry and biology prerequisites. A little different than art history and design classes. So if we disappear for a little while that usually means I am probably sitting in a corner trying to memorize 300 index cards for an exam. (Yesterday I had a quiz in my morning class and an exam in my night class...Barf!) It's a scary change but one that I am really excited about. A huge thank you to everyone who has encouraged me to pursue this new dream even though it is so different from the world I know. And an even bigger thank you to Derek, Karen, and my parents. Without them, none of this would even be possible!!!

A day at the park

We took a trip to Northwest park one afternoon and visited all of the animals in the barn.

The girls loved peeking in on the animals.

Billy the goat.

Dudley the sheep.

Cisco the donkey.

Ned the turkey.

But of course ALL of the animals were "Dogs"
because that is what everything is these days :)

How 'bout them apples.

What is better than picking apples? Picking apples with apple hats! Thanks Grandma Denise for making these fun hats!

Amelia Appleseed.
Emma's a good apple.

An apple folding in half.

Sister apples... too far?

The girls didn't do too much apple picking... more like apple watching.

Amelia loves apples!

Emma testing out an apple.

A picnic at the orchard

It was a beautiful summer day out so we decided to put out a blanket and enjoy it.

Girls first picnic.

Getting some love.

Happy little kid :)

Amelia and Emma sittin' in a tree....

Just like Niagara Falls.

Emma's swagger crawl caught on film.

Auntie, my mom said I can't swim with the ducks... but you will let me, right?

So this is what being green is all about Auntie Green...

Lyman Orchard Wagon Ride

We took a trip to Lyman Orchards a couple weeks ago, our adventure started with a wagon ride and some fun cutouts. Usually we go later in the season, it was a nice change because it wasn't so crowded and we got to relax a little bit.

Emma is whipping up an Amelia pie.

Sunflowers are my favorite!

Big horses!

The Aunties and their girls

Momma and Amelia

Amelia giving high five to some random lady on the wagon ride.
