Emma and Amelia Bedelia's First Apple Pie

This fall the girls had a book club at school and I bought this book for them:

They were so excited listening to the story one night, 

I decided to pick them up from school the next day and head to a local orchard.  

First we picked apples.

Next we tasted them!

And tasted them again.

And tasted even more.

  

Then we peeled and cored the apples.

And made our very own pie crust.... don't be too impressed, 

we only did this because the store was sold out of the pre-made kind!

Then we tasted the filling.

And covered it with a crumble top.

And watched it bake.

Finally....

we tasted the ice cream!

And decided that ice cream was the best part!
