Big E Parade

We were lucky enough to catch the Mardi Gras parade while we were at the Big E.  They had confetti, beads, music and Clydesdale horses.

Here comes the parade!

Confetti is awesome!

I love parades!

Throw me some beads!!

Those Clydesdale's are ginormous!

I think Big E bear just waved to me!

The Famous Baked Potato

So for a few weeks now, we've been hearing the grown-ups talk about this place called the Big E.  Now apparently we've been there before, but frankly, we don't remember it.  We went on the first Sunday it opened.  The crowds were pretty tame, except for the Maine building where we had to wait in line for this baked potato that the parents kept talking about.  So what do you do while you're waiting in line?

 You eat blueberries!

You pick your nose!

You pose for the paparazzi!

You stick out your tongue!

And wouldn't you know after all that, we didn't even like the baked potato!  Oh well, more for the grown-ups!

Sleepover

There are two things we love best about sleepovers in mom and dad's bed.  1. Snuggling under the covers with our babies and 2. Jumping on the bed!  (disclaimer to concerned grandparents - we were very well supervised)
Snuggle Time!

Look at that height!

The Beardsley Zoo

We've gotten very good at making animal sounds, so Mom thought what better place to bring us to practice than the Beardsley Zoo.  There were so many different animals to see!  We had the best day, and literally were asleep before Auntie put the car in drive.

A goat (Maaaaaa!)

Our favorite animal - chickens! (Bawwk!)

A Pig (Oink,Oink!)

 A Tiger (Rawwwr!)
Mom - I think I see a carousel over there!

 Our favorite lady!

A quick stop at the gift shop - our very own little tigers!

Holding on to Summer

We've had a great summer and weren't quite ready to let it go, so we convinced mom and dad to take us to the beach in early September so we could have one more day building sandcastles.  Dad was a real trooper, and must have carried 75 buckets of water back and forth to the blanket!

Trip #37 down to the water

 Building sandcastles is hard work!

Feed the Fishes

We love going to visit Grandma and Grandpa, but we especially love getting to feed the fishes while we are there.  Now everyone that knows Grandpa, knows how much he LOVES his fishes, so the fact that he let us feed them, must mean we are pretty special.  He was even patient with us while we fed them one piece of food at a time.  Hey, what can we say, we wanted to prolong the experience.

Emmy too!

Here fishy fishy (get your one pellet of food)

Are you ready for some football???

We went to see the Uconn football opening game against UMass.  It was a perfect night for a game, and we were troopers and stayed all the way to the 3rd quarter.  Our favorite was the lady next to us who rang a cowbell every few minutes.  She told us she would smuggle one in for us next time.
Can't. Wait.  Go Huskies!!
Great view!
Mom, we need to get the guy selling Carvel over here, pronto!

Practicing for the dance cam!

Did you see that play?!

Hanging out with our buddy Uncle Joe!

Summer Time Fun Take 2

We got to sleep over at the beach, and wake up and do it all again!  More sandcastles, more ocean, more italian ice and more Merry Go Round!  Now you remember the brass ring that we told you about, we'll on our second visit to the Merry Go Round daddy caught the brass ring!!  and then dropped it..... Luckily they were able to rescue the ring, and we still got our free ride.

He caught the brass ring!

And then he dropped it!! #partyfoul

Amelia was so excited for the free ride, she kissed the token!

On our way out of the Merry Go Round, we broke into an impromptu family 'Ring Around the Rosey.' Sun, sand, italian ice, carousel rides, and hanging with your family - that's what summer is all about!

Summer Time Fun

We convinced Daddy and Auntie to take some time off of work and take us to the beach with Momma.   We had a great time playing in the sand, building sandcastles, picking up rocks, and we both went in the ocean - and loved it!  Auntie Green came to visit us for a few hours, and we got to eat italian ice and go on the Merry Go Round with her!  This is a special Merry Go Round that has rings you can grab as your horse goes by, and if you catch the brass ring, you get a free ride.  The highlight of the day was when our mom, all 5 ft (read 4'11) of her actually caught a ring.  Not the brass ring, but a ring nonetheless.  Go mom!!

Watermelon is the best!

Ah-mazing!

We got our ride tokens- giddy up!

Yay Momma!

Jumping Ladies

We took the girls to an indoor inflatable bounce house playground...it was awesome!

Jumping in the safari!
Going down the big slide with Auntie.
