Professional Gymnasts

It's official, both girls completed their gymnastics training and have the ribbon to prove it.

Stamps

After each class, stamps were awarded. One on each hand, one on each foot, and one on their belly.

Stamps were a huge hit that kept them amused all day long. By the end of their last class they would find the teacher, sit next to her, and pull  up their shirts to show their belly.

Floor Routine

The third and final circuit of the day was the floor routine. This started with "cartwheels," then on to backward rolls, then the trampoline, then the tumble track, and then the dismount was a tuck and roll.

Here they are doing "cartwheels.' At their age, the main thing to learn
is the placement of hands and feet on the mat. Which they did really well at!
Backward roll was a huge hit!

Do you see me sister?
Bounce, bounce!
This was the girls (mom's) the favorite thing of the whole class, a really really long trampoline. If one of the girls broke away and headed towards it, mom didn't mind climbing up on it to chase them down :)
And she stuck the dismount!

Balance Beam

The second circuit was the balance beam. They walked a short floor beam, climbed through hoops, and then across the high beam. When they were on the high beam they practiced walking forwards, side step, and backwards!

Emma walking forward.

 Amelia doing side steps.

Both of the girls on the beam at the same time.

Little Gymnasts

We enrolled the girls in Me and My Shadow Gymnastics.
Thankfully Auntie was up for the challenge of having one of the girls shadow her.

Their first circuit consisted of bouncing on the colored blocks, bouncing on a trampoline, climbing up a vault, through a tunnel, hanging on the uneven bars, climbing up a high block and stick the dismount. After this class, I think they will be ready for the Olympics!

 Amelia bouncing on the trampoline.

Emma is climbing up the block and you can see Amelia hanging on the bars behind her.

Emma so excited to start another circuit.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to Derek, a great father
who rarely ever makes eye contact with the camera.
We love you!

In honor of Father's Day the girls decided to swim like their dad would!

* * * * *

It wouldn't be Father's Day without wishing
our Grandpa a Happy Father's Day too. We love you!

"Here Grandpa, I got you a chewed piece of watermelon. Hope you like it!"

Little Carnies

Co-pilots.

It's a lot of work flying a plane.

But oh so fun!
(Blurry but I love their faces in this photo!)

On our way out of the carnival, Dad wanted to play one game with the girls.
We picked the lollipop game. Each of the girls got to choose their own lollipop.
And they both picked orange tootsie pops!

Except the one Amelia chose was winning pop!

After Dad saw what Amelia did, he had her choose his too...
and she picked another winner!

Jump!

Twin Tats

Their first official face painting experience. We weren't sure how they would take to having something painted on their face, so we thought we'd ease into it with an arm painting instead.

 Amelia admiring the artist's skills.

So pretty.

Check out my new tat.

Play Ball

There was even an area where you could practice pitching.

So is this considered a strike?

Cute little catcher.

Hoarding as usual.

Tug boats

After not so fun "Fun Slide"...

We ran into a good friend, and loyal blog reader, Julie!
After chatting for a bit, we headed over to the kiddie rides.

Tickets in hand, ready to ride!

Amelia getting ready to set sail.

Emma enjoying the ride.

When did they get old enough to ride big kid rides? Sad.

But not as sad as this face! About half way through their ride, a little boy freaked out and they needed to stop the ride to take him off. Emma's tug boat stopped right in front of us and I think she expected us to come get her. When we didn't she started to freak too. We rescued her from the boat, all while Amelia sat calmly in hers. Once they started the ride again, we all waved to Amelia as she went round and round. Poor kiddo.

Fun Slide

Our first fair of the season:

 Fun.

 Not so fun.

Really bad idea!

If you give our twins sprinkles...

The girls have a book called "If you give a cat a cupcake." The first line of the book is: If you give a cat a cupcake, he'll ask for some sprinkles to go with it. When you give him the sprinkles, he might spill some on the floor.

Except in our case there is no cupcake and the story becomes: If you give the twins a closed container of sprinkles, they will find a way to open it, spill the whole container on the floor, and try to eat each and every one of them!

Memorial Day Parade

We took the girls to see the memorial day parade in our town to support all those who have fought for our freedom. It was a beautiful afternoon and the girls loved watching everyone march by.

Chillin' with AK.

Amelia singing a song, waiting for the parade to start.

Hello!

Little nut.

Enfield Soccer... I have a feeling this will be us one day. Woof.

Amelia got a lolly pop from a little boy in the parade.

And she shared it with her sister.

Watching the Marching Band march.

Dancing for the marching band - do we have a future Walking Wally?

This group was our favorite. These people are called the Cycling Murrays, a family cycling band. While looking a little closer at my picture the flute playing cyclist second from the left is wearing a neck brace, tough gig.
