We spent the girls actual birthday celebrating with family poolside. They not only share a birthday with their great grandmother, they also share it with their cousin Brayden. Happy birthday to the Quadruplets!!
Things might not be remembered as easily as they once were, but you always remember that these two munchkins were born on your birthday. That is something that will connect the three of you forever. We love you so much Gram. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday to my favorite little girls in the world. You bring so much happiness to everyone around you, we can't imagine our world without you in it.
When trying to come up with a theme for the girls' party, we didn't have to think hard. We decided to go with the Thing 1 and Thing 2 theme. You might remember that back in the day when we announced to our families that I was pregnant (and by pregnant we meant with TWO babies) we used the Thing 1 and Thing 2 onesies. We thought it would be a nice way to tie this huge milestone back to where it all began.
We celebrated the girls first birthday yesterday and had a great time. I don't know many one year olds that can say their party went until 10pm! Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us. Thank you to my parents for hosting it, Auntie for staying up late working on all the details with me and for everyone who helped set up/clean up. And thank you to our family and friends for all the love and support you have given us this year. We love you all!
A year ago today I traded in my MINI Cooper. I went to work that morning alright with the idea of giving her up. And then on my way to the dealership I started sobbing. And it wasn't the cute cry, it was the real ugly kind. Think lots of snots. As I took my final voyage, I decided to sing that song "I wanna be a millionaire so freakin' bad"... cause if I were a millionaire I could keep my car and have a "mom" car too. When I pulled into the dealership Derek and I sat in the MINI and I cried for a good 15 minutes. At that point I think Derek had to pry me from my car. I drove off the dealership that afternoon in a new car that would be able to fit two little baby girls safely. (Don't think I didn't try everything to get two car seats in the back of the MINI!) From the dealership, Derek and I went straight to our lamaze class. As we were walking into the hospital, I looked down on the ground and saw a red silly band in the shape of a car. I didn't know who's it was, but I picked it up and put it on. It was a sign :)
And if you look in the pictures from when the girls were born, you can see the red silly band on my left hand:
